After coming today morning from various governorates to the Ministry of Finance; while some of them were standing in front of the Ministry and others were being in their way to Cairo, the RETA employees succeeded to gain their fund that they upheld.
The Minister of finance issued the decision No. 425 of 2009 to establish "the Fund for Social Protection for Employees in Real Estate Tax Authority and its Local Administrations" …"according to the regulations" which "presented by the RETA Union representatives"… the decision has published in "Al Waqaie Al Misriyya" [Article No. 174] to come into force effective from the day next to publishing".
The Center for Trade Union and Workers Services congratulates the Egyptian workers of Real Estate Tax Authority and their enterprising independent union for their achievement that they could win in spite of all pressures and efforts exercised by the Egyptian Trade Unions Federation (ETUF) to block their attempts. While the CTUWS is announcing-again-its full support to the RETA Union, reaffirming its right to perform its role and exercise the whole of its activities, it emphasizes the right of the RETA workers and all of Egyptian workers to elect their representatives and form –freely-their unions which are capable of negotiation on their behalf without wasting their rights.
