Throughout four months of continuous work within the framework of a campaign led by CTUWS about determining fair minimum wage in Egypt, and supported by belief in the essentiality of participation of the workers themselves with economic experts in the process of formulating standards and limitations for the development of a fair minimum wage that takes into account the many complex variations in the wages of different labor sectors, CTUWS held seven field workshops and two roundtables with workers of different sectors. They were attended by nearly 200 leading figures in the field of labor and unions distributed sectoral and geographical distribution in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Upper Egypt and Al-Gharbiya.

The workshops were held for employees and workers in the public sector, public sector companies, economic organizations and the private sector. A committee of experts in this field was chosen to monitor the results of the workshops in order to formulate general criteria that should be taken into consideration while drafting a law for a comprehensive and unified minimum wage in Egypt.

CTUWS invites you to attend the press conference to present the findings and recommendations of the campaign for criteria that must be taken into account while determining minimum wage in Egypt.

Conference will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday the 25th of June, 2014, in Taha Hussein Hall at the Syndicate of Journalists.
