A paper examines the impact of increasing heatwaves linked to climate change on workers in Egypt

Find attached a policy paper prepared by the CTUWS Climate and Just Transition Program, entitled “Heat Stress and Workers’ Protection in Egypt.”, analysing heat stress as one of the most significant emerging challenges to occupational health and safety standards, as well as to the concept of 'decent work'. It reviews the reality of heat exposure in the Egyptian labour market, focusing on vulnerable sectors such as agriculture, construction, renewable energy and municipal services. It also discusses the health, economic and social impacts of heat stress on workers and their families.
