Imprisonment of Uglu Factory workers for 15 days

The general prosecution office in Ismailia issued today 18th of September 2019 a decision to imprison six workers of Uglu factory (2 female workers among them) located in Ismailia investment zone 15 days on pending investigations (remand) that the general prosecution began the day before yesterday Monday 16th of September 2019 after dispersing their sit-in and arrested them on Monday 16th of September. The security authorities released a report under no. 4012/2019, administrative record Abu Sweer, charges against them assembling, creating unrest in the streets, incitation to strike in the Factory occupation and creating chaos in public roads.

The security forces were arrested 19 of workers (males and females) who are begun their sit-in on Saturday the 14th of September against the administration's abstention from paying them their due annual raise of salary and referred them to Ismailia prosecution which has issued its decision to release 13 workers and delayed supplementing the investigation with the other six workers until yesterday pending the receipt of security investigation before issuing its decision of imprisonment the six workers for 15 days.

The six workers under accusation are:
