Invitation to Working Women Congress’ celebration of International Women's Day

International Women's Day is a day that has been recognised after the whole struggles of all women from all around the world who had been demanding to improve their working conditions and still they are struggling for a real equality between genders. 

In the framework of its program, Working Women Congress, the Centre for Trade Union and Workers Services CTUWS organize an event on Friday, 11 March 2016, at the Journalists Syndicate, Fourth Floor at 1.00 pm. 

The event will include as a speaker Dr. Nishwa al-Howfi, journalist and member of the National Council for Women, as well as the presentation of the first monitory report of Working Women Congress which includes workingwomen conditions within their workplaces in different sectors (public and private, and government and informal) and other problems (causes, effects and mechanisms of resistance).

Moreover, a documentary on violence against women will be screened. The Working Women Congress will honour Mrs Amina Shafiq, one of the leading journalist, Mrs. Fatima Fouad one women leaders of independent trade unions, and the mother of the martyr / Mohammed al-Jundi.
